For 20 kids
need 30ml*20=600 ml total of lysis

600 ml water in a bottle
35 ml soap or shampoo 
20 grams salt (about 20ml)

( so for one strawberry we need 30 ml water, 15 ml soap and 1 g salt)


1. prepare chemical lysys solution:
Add 600 ml water in a large bottle
Add 40 ml shampoo with tipped pipette to container
Measure with scale and add 20 grams salt
Invert gently to avoid bubbles and let bubbles burst, or stirr

2. break 1 large strawberry in ziplock. Do not smash but mush.

3. genlty poor 35 ml of lysate in the bag

4. incubate for 1 minute

5. Carefully filter with funnel and plastic first in the container using toilet paper, paper towel or coffee filter. Wrap and sqeeze.

5' Move to 15 ml connical tube 

6. genlty add isopropilic (rubbing alcohol) 20 ml Precipitation (DNA solidifies out of solution).

7. incubate for 2 minutes

8. scoop the slimy cottonball from top layer with toothpick

9. optionally add in CT and add a string.

reagents:
600 ml water (my special water)
35 ml shampoo or soap
20 grams of salt
20*20 ml isopropilic COLD

20 strawberries
paper towel or toilet paper
add  about 2 medium size strawberries or a big one  and 2 times the ml of water
blend on high to 3 minutes or until blends
optionally filter through strainer











=====untested variation with centrifuge

Prepare extraction solution of 10 ml
9 ml water
1 ml shampoo
.2 g salt (breaks the histones)

add lysys solution to puree and invert several times	
incubate 5 minutes

transfer to CTs

Optional
centrifuge 10000rpm 5 min 8 times or 2 times in 4 tubes
keep supernatant


add  meat tenderizer, or pineapple juice (protease)
incubate for ?


add cold isopropilic alcohool 5 ml
incubate several minutes
where the 2 layers meet  is DNA cottton ball
can move DNA to a test tube with a pipette
